Sh'varim - Aleph
שְּׁבָרִים/Sh’varim
Sh’varim: Hebrew-fragments, shards, broken pieces
Each of these fragments is created from a larger painting, labored over and cared for, and now splintered. They are symbolic of the brokenness in our world that resonates within all of us – and the obligation to repair what is broken.
I begin a new series of Sh’varim with every annual cycle that starts with the Jewish High Holidays: a time assigned for deep self-reflection,
for an accounting and a righting of wrongs, and a time to consider our obligation to help heal the world we share.
